History
1349 formed in 1997 and comprises several former members of the band Alvheim . Their drummer, Kjetil Haraldstad|Frost , is also a member of Satyricon (band)|Satyricon .
1349 tour on a regular basis; their live shows often begin with drummer Frost and guitarist Archaon fire-breathing. In recognition of their influences, the band performed a cover of Mayhem (band)|Mayhem 's "Buried by Time and Dust" on their debut album, Liberation (1349 album)|Liberation . At their live shows they have also covered Celtic Frost , the band that vocal ist Ravn cites as his principal influence.

A music video of 1349's song 'Sculptor of Flesh' was released following the band's 2005 album, Hellfire (album)|Hellfire . The video, directed by Judd Tilyard, alternates between footage of the band performing the song in Norway and clips of surgery filmed in Australia .

1349 released their fifth full length album Demonoir on 26 April 2010. The album shows a return to their earlier hyperspeed sound before Revelations of the Black Flame , while continuing its low-fi production and ambient sensibilities.
They are scheduled to tour Canada and the United States with Tom Gabriel Fischer 's project Triptykon in October 2010.
