Biography

2raumwohnung () is a Germany|German pop duo founded in 2000 in Berlin .
Its two members & ndash; Inga Humpe and Tommi Eckart & ndash; are the former singers of the group Neonbabies .

Band history

The band was formed when Humpe and Eckart composed the song Wir trafen uns in einem Garten ( We Met in a Garden ) for use in an advertisement for Imperial Tobacco 's "Cabinet" brand. When the song unexpectedly became a hot tip, 2raumwohnung decided to publish it as a single, and later on the album Kommt zusammen ( Come Together ), which debuted at #21 on the German pop album charts on 16 July 2001. Their subsequent single "2 von Millionen von Sternen" ( Two Out of Millions of Stars ) & ndash; originally a jingle for a 2000 - 2001 advertising campaign by HypoVereinsbank introducing the Euro & ndash; entered the singles charts on 14 January 2002 at #95.

In 2003, their second release, In wirklich ( In Real ) won the German Dance Award for best album. The third album, Es Wird Morgen ( It is becoming Morning ) was released in 2004. The fourth album, Melancholisch schön ( Melancholically Beautiful ), was released in June 2005 and the fifth, 36grad ( 36 Degrees ), followed in February 2007.

2raumwohnung publish their music through the it-sounds label.
