4 Strings

Carlo Resoort (who founded the musical group 4 Strings), born March 1 1973, is a Dutch DJ, remixer and producer.

Music career

Carlo Resoort originally began working with Jan De Vos when they found a mutual interest in dance music. The two spent all of their free time in the studio, and later Jan went on to become "DJ 4 Strings" while Carlo headed 4 Strings. All of his albums as 4 Strings have been released in the U.S. via Ultra Records.

Carlo had his first hit with "Day Time", and later released "Take Me Away (Into the Night)," his second hit. They had a decent amount of success, having been in charts in several European countries and also Canada and Australia. Success in the United States of America has been limited to this point and they have only charted on the U.S., Dance Radio Airplay, Hot Dance Singles Sales, and Rhythmic Top 40 chart. It should be noted that the Ultra.Trance 2007 album went to number seven on the Top Electronic Albums chart. This album was compiled by DJ 4 Strings, but only one of the songs is by 4 Strings.

4 Strings currently consists of Carlo Resoort (who mostly creates the music) and Jan De Vos (who mostly works on production and arrangement, and performs some songs) and various guest artists on vocals. In 2004, rumors surfaced of singer Vanessa van Hemert leaving the group, due to some newly released 4 Strings songs that did not feature her. Although Resoort originally denied the rumors, by the following year, van Hemert did leave the group

. After Mainlinedn was released, many fans we're disappointed at the lack of Hemert's vocals. Sunrise was the last track Hemert provided vocals for 4 Strings.

Jan De Vos took up the name DJ 4 Strings and does all live performances.

As of late November 2008, the official 4 Strings website has a teaser "Coming Soon" banner and is promoting a new website. Many speculate that new 'teaser' tracks are in the works as well, and it is rumored to coincide with the launch of their new site.
