Artist Biography

AVOX (say 'a vox') is a one man band combining electronic/dance/pop music with Christian inspiration; made up by Alex (Alexander) Dmitriev in Vladivostok, Pacific Russia, now living in St.Petersburg, North-Western Russia.

Alex has been involved in music writing since the late 1980’s, at first with a school band, then in an electronic duo, then praise & worship groups. About 10 years ago he started his self-made AVOX, but it’s only since the end of 2005 that he began to promote it in Europe and other countries and got attention, exposure and some airplays in the UK, Ireland and the US.

Alex calls his instrumental style Cybermusic, because computer is his instrument. But that does not make the music mechanical - it is fresh, warm and emotional. AVOX's instrumental tracks are meant to "speak" to a listener personally as musical impressions and illustrations of Christian experience. Give it a listen and enjoy the expressivity of various moods, from meditative introspection and praise to vibrant gratitude. The music is a good background for everyday life, whatever you do. Just be sure you live with Jesus in your heart.
