Artist Biography

Camil (Chicago Area Midwest IL) Born in Kankakee Illinois a small town 50 miles south of Chicago stated to be the worse place to live in America by Places Rated Almanac,USA Today, Readers Digest and David Letterman has taken the hip hop scene by storm ! he has set out to prove that the best things can come from the worst places!

Camil has recorded 11 underground tapes and CD's since 1998 and has independently arranged for mass distribution through a multitude of channels. His recent release " Why U Ain't Signed" was produced by Vudu Spellz, whose chart topping production "Georgia", performed by Ludacris and Jamie Foxx, was nominated for a Grammy award in 2007. Vudu also received nomination credits that same year for his contribution to the Ludacris hit album 'Release Therapy'. His discography includes producing tracks for Chingy, R Kelly, Reuben Studdurd, Young Guns, Shawnna, Do or Die, EightBall and MJG, just to name a few.

Camil has expanded his fan base by getting rotation on Power 92(Columbus, MS),Power 92(Chicago), WKKC(Chicago), WLRA(Joliet/Romeoville IL), WPVM 103.5 FM( Ashville, NC), MentalNote blogtalk radio, QYK-Top 40, 93.9 and hot 97FM. He has obtained over one and a half million views and plays on each of his 2 myspace pages, and has built an online combined friend and fan base of over 26,000 in just 2 years. CAMIL's hit single "My Valentine" debuted as the number 1 single from an unsigned artist on the Soundclick alternative rap genre charts and he consistently maintains top 50 chart status in all genres entered. CAMIL has demonstrated exceptional networking skills in building an internet presence in a short period of time.

Camil was featured on the soundtrack " A Get Together" which included Kanye West, and Boyz 2 Men. He also appears in the 2006 release of the movie "The Coalition" with Reakwon and Power from The Wu-tang Clan, Chuck Zito, Michael Wright, and Frank Vincent. CAMIL's stage performances and strong presentation captivate his audiences leaving them wanting more, especially women.
