Cristinella, (Cristina Aloe), is recognized widely for her unique voice and sparkling magnetism on stage. Fans often compare Cristinella’s unique renditions of both American Standards and Italian Pop to the voices of Keely Smith, Connie Francis, Rosemary Clooney, Norah Jones and Gwen Stefani, all wrapped up into a brand new sound that brings back the songs of yesterday in a way that speaks to listeners of all generations.
In 2006, Cristinella moved back to her hometown of Pittsburgh to embrace the role of Grizabella, The Glamour Cat, in Pittsburgh Musical Theater’s innovative production of CATS Cats. At the age of 26, Cristinella gave a new twist to the epic ballad, Memory. Cristinella spent this past summer touring as the featured vocalist with acclaimed Italian/American band, We Three, under the musical direction of her Godfather, Vito DiSalvo. The tour dates were part of the Matt Morgan US Tour, in promotion of his newly released DVD/CD. Besides having the honor of singing alongside Morgan and his wife, Rachelle Durkin of The Metropolitan Opera, Cristinella relished the accomplishment of being the very first female member of We Three, since its inception 42 years ago. An accomplished musician, Cristinella studied Piano, French Horn and Steel Drums, in addition to Bel Canto Training she received as a member of the QED Children’s Festival Chorus. As a child, Cristinella was part of the children’s chorus for a performance of Carmina Burana under the direction of Robert Page. Cristinella has performed alongside Marvin Hamlisch, Bobby McFerrin, Fran Smith of The Hooters and Joey Granati, composer of Resolution.
Under the tutelage of Dr.Charles Gilbert and Dr. Neal Tracy at The University of the Arts in Philadelphia, Cristinella earned her BFA in Musical Theater/Theater Arts. While in Philadelphia, Cristinella appeared as ditzy bridesmaid, Marina Galino, in the South Philly cast of Tony ‘n Tina’s Wedding. In 2001, Cristinella appeared in the Philadelphia/New York Workshop of Femme Fatale under the direction of the show’s creators, Herrman and Harman.
Currently, Cristinella is working on several projects that promote the art of romance, the preservation of cultural heritage and making music that makes people happy.
