Born Chicago, ILL. the windy city, the Jazz, Gospel, Dance, and Blues capital of the world. Evelyn has been writing, acting, singing and performing since the age of seven. Evelyn taught herself every jazz standard there was to know, so that she could perform at every major nightclub throughout the Midwest. By the time Evelyn was nineteen she had performed all across the Midwest and more. During that time Evelyn attended Forman School of Dramatic arts, in downtown Chicago ILL. where she learned the arts of acting. Evelyn became a great actress in a very short time.
She was so good, her teacher wanted her to travel with a play across the United States.But as fate would have it, Evelyn met English producer Ian Levine who was producing dance music in London England. Evelyn flew over to London England and recorded her first dance hit "Weak Spot". In a matter of five weeks after Century fox released Weak Spot it went to No. 5 in the British Dance Charts. This opened the doors to Evelyn's dream. She was asked to perform on one of Britain's top T.V. shows "TOP OF THE POPS". Where she did perform with personalities like Andy Williams, Glitter Band, and Squeeze. Following that Evelyn toured all of the U.K. with a ten piece orchestra. In 1984 Evelyn recorded a monstrous hit called "HIGH ENERGY" on Record Shack Records which went to No. 1 all over the world, this is when Evelyn was crowned "QUEEN OF HIGH ENERGY", dance music. Evelyn was asked once again to perform on " TOP OF THE POPS" T.V. dance show with personalities such as George Micheals, the Thomason Twins, Spandell Bylay, Laura Branagon, Billy Ocean, Ray Parker Jr.and more. Evelyn continue to record and is now a international recording artist with many hit's such as "How Many Hearts", "Masquerade", "Heartless", Standing At The Crossroads", "Reflections", "Is This Madness", "Move Your Body" The Evelyn Thomas Suite", "One World", "Tight Rope", Sorry Wrong No.", Spread Love", the 1997-Billboard dance charted "Tell The World" by Redemption featuring Evelyn Thomas, all which have sold millions and through the internet still selling today. Through this success Evelyn has traveled all over the world performing her hits. Evelyn has diversifed by forming her own production company which houses her publishing for music, books, children's educational programs and her musical play which is a biographical musical anthalogy that includes her Gospel, Jazz and Pop musical works, some of which are on this site and several others.She's also been a fashion designer for over twenty years and owns a clothing manufacturing company which handles Women,Men, and Children clothing, Designed by Evelyn Thomas. She also has a jewelry business which she invites you to shop online.
