Q. How do I upload my music?
A. Before uploading your music, you must first specify the details of that music, as in:
- New Album- add Album Number and title.
- Add a Song- add Song Genre, Track Number, Track Length, Song Title with the optional additions of Lead Song, Song Credits, and Song Lyrics. Save.
- Edit Song- go to Upload Song, Browse, Open the file, and click Upload Song Now. The format is in MP3 only.
- Play Song- will download your music for you to listen to your demo.
For further assistance, please read the "What is a MP3? Do I need any hardware to listen to MP3s?" question located on Support. If you need help with ripping, burning, playing and/or managing your CDs, see MusicMatch.
Q. What is the format and what are the settings for a song to be encoded and uploaded?
A. Your music must be in MP3 format or it will not upload properly. You can test your MP3 file in a media player to see how it plays. For instance, try playing it in Winamp or MusicMatch.
It is recommended to have your songs at a frequency of 44Hz stereo and a bitrate of 128kbps, with 192 kbps recommended.
About Bitrate:
You can choose how to assign bits to each second of audio when a song is encoded to a digital file. The higher the bitrate, the better the quality of sound as well as the size of the file. CD quality is around 128 kbps.
What to do if your file is not in an MP3 format:
MP3 encoders (also known as "rippers") are the software programs you will need in order to create MP3 files. In general, most media players, can change the format of the music on your CD into an MP3.
