Lawanda grew up in a small town called ypsilanti,in michigan . She was raised in a household where music is all she knew . Her father lee osler was a well known local singer , who performed in groups like the masterpeices , and the soulmates, he then started singing solo , which is where lawanda first was introduced to music.lawanda "s first time in the studio was when she was 5 years old when she recorded background for her fathers song "one god , one world". " i love music , music is my life" states lawanda. After being introduced to music , she then started singing in the church chior of messiahs temple apostolic church in ypsilanti. She sang numerous leads for the youth and mass chior , and some recording with the church as well as concerts , and jubilees, so the lord is her rock and her strength.
As years went on lawanda did various talent shows and competitions , in which she placed numerous times in first place, for instance in the ypsilanti heritage festival at the age of 9 she placed first in a talent show singing" two occassions". At the age of 15 , lawanda moved to inkster, michiganand attended inkster high school, where she met an artist named lavell jackson , aka, blac-e-blac,whereshe was introduced yo performing writing ,and featuring rap ,or hip hop music. Blac-e-blac, introduced lawanda to other perople at the school with simular talents , and they formed a group called modesty. Before they went on tour to the southern states, lawanda did a concert with lavell at the cosmos with rbl posse.then she ventured down south opening up for acts such as , " a few good men", tony thompson,and many others.when arriving back home in michigan , she did a show with group, opening up for tony little and adelle givinsat the state theatre in detroit, mi.for a step and comedy show they blessed our theatres stage with. Unfortunately the group was short lived , so she only stayed sighned to ibdoina records for 1 year. Thats when lawanda started working on her solo career, but still featuring on various artists solo projects, here in inkster, ypsilanti, detroit, and other surrounding areas.wherever lawnda can be heard shes there, open mics ,other peoples studio sessions, on the internet radio, anywhere her voice can be heard, ."i feature on anything i can get my hands on",explained lawanda,"even if the artist is unknown, or so-called wack, their fans will also become mine ,and thats how i create my following , because my voice as im told ,spices up any track ".that is the story of lawanda , which is not finished yet , you will be hearing alot from her in the future, for music is her future , god gave her the voice, and better beleive shes gonna use it to the best of her ability
