Classical composer Laurie Conrad was asked by Women's Works, a group of Cornell faculty members devoted to performing contemporary music, to submit one of her works for their July concert. The composer will be playing the piano part to the commissioned piece, & the concert will be recorded. Unsung Song #1 was dedicated to Conrad's singer, Louise McConnell, and was written in 1996, shortly after McConnell's premature death from cancer. Other performers will include: Ruth Rowland (violin), Tim Reppert (bass), Melissa Stucky (viola), & Lizzy Evett (cello). Conrad's Elegie for flute & harp will also be on the program. Email Contact
