Artist Biography

Psalmist, Songwriter, Worship Leader. Born and raised in Philadelphia Pennsylvania, Psalmist and songwriter, Rodney Harris began singing in the Church at the age of seven. As child at the age of twelve, his God-given gift of music came to light as he experienced his first recording with the Gospel Blenders entitled “Since Christ Came Into My Life”. Soon after the group recorded again with Matt Myers for Mattrick Production. Three years later the group completed their first album for Rasheeha Records entitled “Hand Clap for Jesus” produced by Michael Levanias III.

Rodney’s music ministry objective is to provide the world with an alternative in loving, inspirational, encouraging, and motivational songs through his unique style and approach to Gospel music. He is committed to sharing the good news and love of Jesus Christ to the world through ministering in song. His message within his ministry is, ‘the love of God is extended to everyone. Throughout the years Rodney has utilized his music ministry to spread this love and message of Jesus Christ in various Colleges and Universities, sports stadiums, concert halls, the theater, and television.

One of his most memorable moments in his music career was the privilege to perform as one of the featured vocalists at the Philadelphia Music Alliance Award Show along with such artists as the Delfoncs, Stylistics, and the O’Jays to honor great artists as Hall and Oats, Gamble and Huff, etc. It was at this honored occasion; Rodney sang a medley of Hall and Oats’ songs as a tribute to their accomplishments in the music industry. However, one of the things he loves the most is the
European tours with the Famous Newberry Singers, sharing the Gospel of Jesus.

Additionally, Rodney has worked with some of the most prolific Producers of Philadelphia’s era such as Steven Ford, Vidal Davis, Bill Jolly and James Poyser.
