You do what you have to do, to get the job done! Country Music Association artist Stephen Michael Apatow, founder Humanitarian Resource Institute, is an international reference point in the fields of medicine, veterinary medicine and law. Working behind the scenes on the decision making level since 1994, out of the spotlight, his prioritized focus has been communication. Lead, follow or get out of the way represents the intensity of efforts set forward when a humanitarian need was presented. His keynote presentation at the 2006 Future of Biodetection Systems conference, sponsored by Los Alamos (DNA-based Detection Technologies: ppt), represented the medical/veterinary side of the legal discussion: * International Law, Communicable Diseases and the Geopolitical Objective of Minimal Interference with World Trade and Travel: Stephen M. When educational resources for exotic and emerging infectious diseases were needed by physicians and veterinarians across the globe, he coordinated the development of the: * Foreign Animal Disease Online Course: Instructor: Stephen M. Apatow, Director of Research and Development, Pathobiologics International. * Zoonotic Disease Online Course: Instructor: Stephen M. Apatow, Director of Research and Development, Pathobiologics International. The Foreign Animal Disease Online course has been completed by members of the U.S. Army Veterinary Corps, USDA, Agricultural Research Service, Diagnostic Center for Population & Animal Health, Michigan State University, Tennessee Department of Agriculture, Students: Kansas State University School of Veterinary Medicine, Veterinarians in private practice, New Zealand Ministry of Agriculture and Forestry, Directorate of Animal Health, Central Epidemiology Unit, Nepal...... When pro bono legal assistance (United States and International), free legal help, self help, legal aid and online tools for legal research were needed on the grassroots level, he mediated the development of the HRI Legal Resource and Assistance Center. Moving into the spectrum of the music industry, his focus has moved from behind the scenes down to the grassroots level, to connect one on one. The bottom line was needs analysis and "to bridge Unmet Needs to Untapped Resources." After forming Humanitarian Resource Institute in 1994, he became an advocate for this work in all 50 states and territories, and at the request of leaders in Washington expanded his reach to every United Nations member country as an advocate for policy development and humanitarian relief in the fields of medicine, veterinary medicine and law. Today, this work continues with an objective for collaboration and unity, including his work with the music and entertainment industry.
