YVONNE PERKINS WINNER FEBRUARY SONG OF THE YEAR 2009
Chicago native Mrs. Yvonne Perkins recently received the honor of being named FEBRUARY WINNER, by the Song of the Year (http://www.songoftheyear.com/) songwriting contest for the song “WE GIVE YOU GLORY” Song of the Year is an international songwriting contest supporting VH-1's Save the Music Foundation. The Song of the Year judges are some of the biggest names in music including many Grammy Award winners. This is the fourth time Yvonne has been recognized for her songwriting abilities having received Honorable Mention in 2008, Finalist (Don’t Wreck The Train) in 2007 and "The Master's Hand" was selected as Runner Up song of the Month for May 2006. Mrs. Yvonne Perkins competed against songwriters from all over the world for this honor. Some of her other recent accomplishments are: 4-14-09 "Where Do they Go?" Street Team Urban Series Vol 2 3-2-09 "Can You Use This Vessel?" Top 10 Broadjam.Com 2-09 "The Altar Call” The Soundcheck Vol 1 1-09 "Just A Little Faith" winner January Spiritual Song of the Month at Broadjam.Com 1-29-09 "We Give You Glory" semi-finalist Mike Pinder's Songwars Songwriting Competition 10-08 "Don't Wreck The Train" Music To Live By (Roo Records) 9-08 FINALIST "We Give You Glory" UK SONGWRITING CONTEST 2008 4-08 "I GOT THE POWER” NBC’s music catalogue for the 2008 Olympics in Beijing (Aug 8 - 24). 1-08 nominated as Worship Artist of the year in the Momentum Awards which is the Indies version of the Stellar Awards. Currently Yvonne is concentrating on her songwriting career while hoping to break forth in film, TV, movies licensing... Her songs are available to recording artists and she recently signed mechanical license for 5 of her songs with two different recording artists.
