History

Formation

Jenny Chisolm met Ryan Simmons at Baylor University in Waco, TX. They began writing songs together not long after the group started booking a few gigs. Ryan played acoustic guitar and Jenny sang. It became apparent that they needed a full band, so they enlisted a couple of friends: Jay Henderson on drums, and a friend from church, Ryan Gregg, on lead guitar (even though he was already in another band called Tribe America). They made a rough 4 song demo for the newly formed "Jenny Chisolm Band."

By January 2001, the band acquired a music producer|producer , Chuck Dennie from By The Tree , and recorded a full-length album. This first independent music|independent album was called Not What You Think . They then got another friend, Travis Lawrence, to join the band as a bassist. In 2002, Ryan and Jenny were married, and they moved to Dallas to become a full-time band. Eventually they changed their name to "Addison Road." It was named after a sound tech who had a baby named Addison. They liked the name Addison and put Road at the end of it for no real reason.

Later that year they came out with a second indie album called Breaking Beautifully .cite web|url= http://www.independentbands.com/cd/addisonroad/breakingbeautifully.html |title=Catapult Digital Distribution |publisher=Independentbands.com |date= |accessdate=2010-06-02 They soon got a new drummer and started leading worship at Richardson First Baptist Church, which was followed by the band playing in front of about 8,000 young people in the summer. That was the inspiration for their next indie project, Always Loved You EP , which was released in June 2005.cite web |url= http://www.jesusfreakhideout.com/cdreviews/AlwaysLovedYouEP.asp |title=Addison Road, "Always Loved You EP" Review |accessdate=2009-04-09 |publisher= Jesus Freak Hideout They released their final independent album in July 2006, titled Some Kind of Spark .cite web |url= http://www.jesusfreakhideout.com/cdreviews/SomeKindofSpark.asp |title=Addison Road, "Some Kind of Spark" |accessdate=2009-04-09 |publisher= Jesus Freak Hideout

In the spring of 2009,the band toured with the Rock and Worship Road Show, along with Jeremy Camp, MercyMe, Hawk Nelson, and Tenth Avenue North. Jenny Simmons was pregnant with her first baby and thus the group sang only one song per show. On April 15, 2009, Jenny gave birth to a healthy baby girl Anniston Cate, in the band's hometown of Dallas,TX.

In January 2010, drummer Jeff Sutton left the band to concentrate on finishing up a college degree that he started working on years ago. The remaining band members are searching for their new drummer via YouTube.
