2011 two CD collection from the late singer, songwriter, producer and session man. In 1975, Gold began his own career recording as a solo artist, releasing four studio albums in the 1970s and many more since then. The hit single "Lonely Boy" reached #7 on the Billboard Hot 100 chart, as well as #11 in the UK chart, in 1977 and has, subsequently, appeared in many film soundtracks, including Boogie Nights and Water Boy. In 1983, Gold formed the band Wax with ex-10cc band member Graham Gouldman. Wax spent the next five years recording and touring experiencing global success that culminated in several Top Ten hits including `Right Between The Eyes' and their biggest hit `Bridge To Your Heart' which charted at #12 in the UK in 1987. This collection features tracks from Gold's illustrious solo career as well as hits from his time with Wax. Music Club Deluxe.

Album Summary
If you’re a fan of the ’70s singer-songwriter movement, West Coast division, then you’ve struck "Gold" indeed—here are all four of the albums singer-songwriter Andrew Gold put out for Elektra/Asylum, reissued with copious bonus tracks, photos from Gold’s private archive and notes (hilarious ones, too) from the man himself! Andrew launched his solo career with this 1975 record and had the steady, experienced hands of producer Charles Plotkin and arranger David Campbell to temper his 24-year-old precociousness. The album made the charts, and boasted Andrew’s original recording of 'Endless Flight', which Leo Sayer used as the title cut of his best-selling album.

Album Summary
Andrew’s toughest rocking album was the only one of his solo albums for Asylum not to make the charts, but many fans count it as his best. And it’s sweetened here by the second version of ‘Gambler’, a song that Andrew loved but never officially released; an almost complete version of Dobie Gray’s ‘The In Crowd’; a studio session appropriately entitled ‘Traffic Jam’, and a live version of ‘Endless Flight’. From 1979!

Absolutely nothing was wrong with Andrew’s picture, as this 1976 album—produced by Peter Asher at the same sessions that yielded Linda Ronstadt’s "Hasten Down the Wind" LP, and with the same band—yielded a Top 10 hit with ‘Lonely Boy’! Oh, and by the way—Andrew reveals in the liner notes what is "really" wrong with the album cover photo!
