FOR IMMEDIATE RELEASE -- Jackson, Tennessee based modern rock band A STONE's THROW has signed a multi-year management contract with Nolan Hodges/MK Productions, based out of Baton Rouge, Louisiana.
A STONE's THROW is the fourth band to sign under MK Productions and manager Nolan Hodges. Other bands managed by MK Productions include ABSENCE OF CONCERN from Jackson, Mississippi, HANGFACE from Norway, and most notably, SEVEN WISER from New York, whose single "Sick" is featured on official movie soundtracks for both Wes Craven's THE CURSED and THE PUNISHER, a soundtrack which sold over 400,000 copies in the United States. SEVEN WISER has also appeared on several EA SPORTS video game titles, including NASCAR CHASE FOR THE CUP 2005 and MVP BASEBALL 2004, ESPN2's show "Cold Pizza," and was previously signed to Wind-Up Records (home of Evanescence, Alter Bridge, and Finger Eleven).
A STONE's THROW will hit the road in support of their new EP, to be titled "Varying Degrees of Clarity," available in early 2006. The EP is tentatively scheduled to contain seven tracks plus special "enhanced" features including live video and exclusive footage of the band.
At press time, the track listing includes: "Seven Degrees", "Story", "Leaving", "Mercy's Crutch", "Undertow", "Realize" and the acoustic ballad "Disconnect."
The band's hard-hitting, yet melodic sound and dynamic live shows are quickly gaining a large stake in the music scene of the southeastern U.S., as evidenced by the traffic the band has been able to generate online and the overwhelmingly positive response to their fall 2005 demo "Hearts and Minds."
