After leaving The X Factor, they continued together as a musical act and had brief success with the single "Last Goodbye". After the split up, Max George went on to become a member of the successful boyband The Wanted . Andy Brown went on to be the lead singer in popular boyband Lawson.

Beginnings


Jamie Tinkler was born in Linthorpe in 1981. He had already applied in 2003 to Pop Idol (series 2)|series 2 of Pop Idol and had reached the qualifying semi-finals but had not made it to the Final 12. Jamie Tinkler became instead a member of the band Pop! composed of Glenn Ball, Hannah Lewis, and Jade McGuire in addition to Tinkler. 2006: X Factor


Avenue took part in the UK The X Factor (UK)|The X Factor , a reality talent show on ITV Network, produced by Simon Cowell . The members Max George, Jonathan (Jonny) Lloyd, Scott Clarke, Ross Candy and Jamie Tinkler auditioned in 2006 to the The X Factor (UK series 3)|3rd series http://www.youtube.com/watch? v=lkriAjJePbk Avenue's audition singing an a cappella version of "Leave Right Now" in The X Factor in 2006 of UK's The X Factor (UK)|The X Factor , singing an a cappella version of " Leave Right Now ", a song by Will Young . They made it through bootcamp landing in the final 4 in Louis Walsh 's category. 2007-2009: After X Factor


After disqualification from X Factor competition, Avenue were signed by Crown Music Management and won an album deal with Island Records. During 2008, Avenue supported fellow boyband McFly on their Radio:active Tour and a February 2009 tour was planned, but later cancelled.

Their follow up single was going to be "Can You Feel It? ", but a commercial release was cancelled and it was distributed free on music service 7digital .
