Artist Biography

Bagpiper & Guitarist- Michael Lancaster has been a professional musician since 1992 and piping since 1987. He has a Bachelor of Science in Music from the University of Colorado at Denver where he has also instructed music. He is a member of the American Federation of Musicians, the Denver Musicians Association, Denver Wedding Professionals, Funeral and Memorial Vendors Association of Colorado and a founding member of the Centennial State Pipe Band. Michael currently performs at 250+ functions a year, including weddings, funerals, military functions, schools, retirement homes, golf tournaments, parties, conventions, bars, and more. Michael is a very versatile musician and has the experience to custom tailor any performance to suit any type of function. He also teaches private lessons to 40+ students a week. Michael possesses an impressive set list, and knows enough material to play for hours. Outside of the bagpipe world, Michael is also a professional guitarist which he has been playing for 27 years. As a guitarist, he teaches and performs most all styles of instrumental and vocal music. His repertoire spans most all styles of music an audience would like to hear. Michael also runs his own recording studio where he composes and records music for film, video and commercials.
