Belinda Carlisle's "Voila," her first new album in a decade, and her first sung entirely in French, is a radical departure for the pop diva and leader of the Go-Gos. Carlisle has fashioned an album that pays tribute to classic French songs of the `40s, `50s and `60s and proves good songs are universal and need no translation to work their exhilarating magic.

"Voila" contains a bonus disc with English versions of four tracks from the album. Bonus tracks include "I Still Love Him," "La Vie en Rose," "Bonnie and Clyde" and "If You Go Away."

Belinda Jo Carlisle (born August 17, 1958) is an American singer who gained worldwide fame as the lead vocalist of the Go-Go's, one of the most successful all-female bands and the first such group whose members wrote their own songs and played their own instruments.

"Live Your Life Be Free" is a song written by Rick Nowels and Ellen Shipley, produced by Nowels for Belinda Carlisle's fourth album Live Your Life Be Free (1991). The single reached the Top 20 in Australia, the UK, and Italy. The song was also an airplay hit in the UK, reaching a peak of #5, and also charted high on the singles chart, reaching its peak at #12. The album version features a 10-second intro sample of natural sounds (such as birds, crickets, etc.), which is omitted from the single version, but this is the only difference between the two. "Live Your Life Be Free" not only was the title track of Carlisle 1991 album, but also opened it, being its first track, while the single's B side, "Loneliness Game", closed it, being its eleventh and last song.

Real is the fifth studio album by American singer Belinda Carlisle, first released on September 29, 1993. The album has a genre of mainly pop songs written by Charlotte Caffey, Thomas Caffey, Ralph Schuckett and half co-written by Carlisle. It was the second album where Rick Nowels had no writing or producing credits and also was Carlisle's first album to have contributed to the producing. The album cover was designed by Tom Dolan and is a departure for Carlisle, who presented a glamorous look on all her previous covers, choosing a "jeans and tee shirt" look instead this time without make-up. It features a cover version of The Graces pop rock song "Lay Down Your Arms".
