Music Giant Performs on Georgia’s Island |

WHO: Big Robert T and the Scene of the Crime Band
Some artists may act as though they are larger than life. But for a few, like the 6-foot-8 blues artist Big Robert T, it’s not an act. The gentle giant, tall in stature and extra large on talent, will be showcased at the 2006 Annual Georgia Sea Island Festival in St. Simons Island, GA.
Big Robert T has performed at venues all over the continental United States and has opened for acts such as James Brown, Lou Rawls, Screaming Jay Hawkins and ZZ Hill. In January 2006, Big Robert T and the Scene of the Crime Band placed in the top 10 at the International Blues Challenge in Memphis, TN, rating them as one of the best blues bands in the world.
The Annual Sea Island Festival is held to honor and celebrate the culture, history and customs of African Americans. There will be music, poetry, spoken word, dance, literature, art and much more. The events on Saturday will take place from noon until 8 p.m. and Sunday from noon until 7 p.m. Admission is free.
