The band was started in 1979, largely inspired by bands such as Judas Priest , Deep Purple and Golden Earring . King Diamond already had a very theatrical stage act, for which he later got fame in Mercyful Fate . The band broke up in 1981 as King Diamond joined punk metal band Brats in November 1980.
