On October 28, 2005 Bob Richard's has been accepted into ASCAP. As you may know ASCAP (American Society of Composers, Athors and Publishers) is a performing rights organization for songwriters, composers and publishers. You are only granted membership if you have works that are receiving airplay and are being played on any type of electronic medium. Currently Bob is also applying for membership in NAPM (The National Academy of Popular Music/Songwriters Hall of Fame). I would suggest that all Indie Artist who create there own material should apply for membership in these organizations. The websites for ASCAP and NAPM are: www.ascap.com www.songwritershalloffame.org/
Also, you can try to get your music played on Scrub, Cygnus, and FatCat internet radio stations. There is also BMI, SESAC, and other organizations to join that can be of service to you. |
