bohannon struggles with 'a guy like you'

Bohannon releases 'a guy like you'

I ran into Bohannon recently at the raucous Indiana nightclub – greg brady and all.
“I have a new song,” he said, rather nonchalantly, as if I were some rube in a tube top.
“Really?”
“Yes,” he said, “tiresome, really.”
“Then why are you telling me?”
He chewed me a new one and it was almost imperceptible.
“The words are terrific,” he countered, “and the music's got a lot of reverb.”
He was right – it was an obituary – a tennysonesque in memoriam. I got a file from a local 'masseuse' who quite honestly hadn't even listened to it. “Take it!” She said. “I got no use for it!” I don't lower myself to even speculate on such matters, but do you think Bohannon likes prostitutes?

Anyway, it has a lot of reverb. But this reviewer – pernes tounia – will go on record saying this is bohannon's most brilliant single to date. Like gordon lightfoot put a boot in cat steven's lying ass and billy mackenzie was the attending physician to whatever came flying out the other side. Slapped it and...Yeah!

Bohannon ordered a drink and turned to me – always quick with a joke or to light up a smoke. “No, thanks,” I said. My religion does not allow me to consume alcohol. Or eat kangaroo. Or smile.

“What's your favorite color?” Bohannon asked.
“I don't know.”
“How can you not know?”
“There are so many colors.”
“And you like some?”
“Yes.”
“And you don't like others?”
“Yes.”
“Which one do you like the best.”
“Orange,” I said.
“Fascist,” Bohannon spit.

This wasn't a disco. It was heaven and nothing was happening. “Stay hungry,” bohannon said, “move a muscle, row for shore”

Bohannon's no longer fooling around. There was an intensity in his eyes that was really rather puma or maybe lynx, no, not lynx, too small, maybe leopard, that'd be cool, but it sounds a bit too much like leotard, which really isn't all that stalking and then pouncing and killing and tearing to bits and pieces. No, maybe a lion. But, man, look at any nature show of lions and all they do is sit on their fat lion asses in the savannah. I mean, who the fuck is feeding them big old fat maned losers? Probably the chick lions – lionesses, i suppose. So, no, bohannon's not a lion, but how about a tiger? Tiger's cool. And puma. Maybe puma...

“My name's Greg and I'll be taking your order.”
“Where you from, Greg?” Bohannon asked without turning to the young waiter.
“Indiana.”
“Indiana, Greg? Indiana?”
Greg said, “Yes, Indiana.” Greg appeared tired and irritated and quite possibly like one who had wrestled heavyweight at Indiana State.
“I'll have another,” bohannon said, and Indiana's Greg smiled and walked away.
“The song's called 'a guy like you.' It's about an old friend. An old, dear friend.” Bohannon said, then stopped. I didn't look at him and in fact turned away ever so slightly. He was out of my peripherals. I wondered about his friend. Who, what, how, when and why were they friends. I'm a journalist, what can i say?

I turned and bohannon was gone. Greg was there looking toward the door. “He should really row for shore,” he said.

Bohannon released 'a guy like you' on artistopia later that evening. pernes tounia met greg for lattes at the Starbucks on first avenue and state street. and all was right with the world.
