O'Neal and drummer Doug Williams|Dougy Williams and finally adding Randall Frye to the group. The Buckwheat Boyz were signed by Koch Records , and recorded their first and only full-length record. From this self-titled album, the song " Peanut Butter Jelly Time " became an Internet celebrities|Internet superhit after a flash video|flash music video featuring a dancing banana was created. Popularity of the song increased as it was featured on television shows such as The Proud Family , Family Guy , and Regular Show . The unfortunate death of founding member and vocalist Jermain Fuller lead to disbandment of the group sometime in late 2001.
