Bump has taken all of their Motown roots and has managed to create an unusual and unique sound to call their own. For three years, Bump has played over 350 shows in nine states, 75 venues, and a number of 500 capacity shows in Detroit. Highlights include playing live on the nationally syndicated Mitch Albom Show, being nominated for a Detroit Music Award, and selling out Detroit’s Majestic Theatre. Bump returned to its original 4-piece lineup and has become a professional touring act. The guys then jumped headfirst into the studio. They recorded their first studio release, Heart of Cadillac Square, with special guest keyboardist and 17-time Detroit Music Award Nominee Chris Codish. This five song EP, recorded on analog tape at EQS Studios, includes Bump’s ode to Detroit “Motorland” and the epic ballad turned trance jam, “Dusk.” On top of the audio tracks, the EP Heart of Cadillac Square includes ten minutes of behind the scenes documentary footage filmed by Fulvew Productions. Bump’s first studio release illustrates the potential they have to be successful recording artists in addition to passionate live performers. As Bump continues to blossom, their infectious presence draws fans and critics alike agreeing that this band is one of the most exciting live acts on the scene.
