Artist Biography |

My name is Ian Christopher McIntosh, often known as Ninja to my best friends. I am a musician and the creator of the story Bury the Misery. In the story, I am known as two people - The Valiant Inferno Fighter and the Star Burning...yes, I play two characters in the story, but it is all apart of some symbolic gesture. I started the actual Bury the Misery story around six years ago. Life experiences helped me right songs and develop the story much more efficiently. Somewhat like my sorrow and misery enticed my to keep writting and playing...joy! But, I didn't start writing songs for Bury the Misery until around 2003. Before I went solo, I was in several bands. Start with my first one, The Pimpbunnies, then leading on to many other name changes like: Uranus, Echelon, The Mopeds, and finally Getting Everyone Ready For Oblivion (aka G.E.R.F.O.). After I was in GERFO, I started two other bands - Red Letter Addition and Schism of Angels, but those two bands combined with the members of GERFO - shaping the band Radio Frequency Hemmorhage: with members - Alex Younger, Ryan Gimmy, Chris Purvis, and Me!. After that, I started my own stuff. I record all my songs based on the story boards I have scripted and I record straight from and to my computer.
Artist Mission
In addition, I play all the instruments in all my songs and I sing all the vocals. I enjoy doing all of it so much, that I keep writting everyday, coming up with new songs. My goal is to just complete the story, and as long as I am alive, the story will continue. I play guitar, bass, keyboards, drums, and a lot of other percussion instrumentals to master the music in my songs. There is no type genre; I tend to dip in all. I like to play some indie rock, progressive rock, hardcore, emo (screamo), and some jazz riffs.
Music Influences
Tthe guys from AFI: Davey Havok for his beautiful mind full of concept and theory and beautiful voice, Jade Puget for his fashion sense and unique guitar sound, Hunter for his outragous bass lines and Adam Carson for being an all great drummer. Coheed and Cambria's Travis and Claudio for being kick ass guitarists, Mike from Incubus inspired me into experimenting around with pedals and effects, Led Zeppelin's Jimmy Page and Robert Plant for Jimmy's awesome funky guitar riffs and Robert's suade voice that goes right with it, Rise Against...for just being hardcore and effin takin the scene back with "Give It All" The Mars Volta's Omar Rodriguez-Lopez for inspiring me to use the whole "neck", Jon Theodore for skill of changing time sigs, and Cedric Bixler-Zavala, thanks guys, thank you Omar and Cedric for your early years of At the Drive In.
