ev's review of RZA's book
Submitted on: 2009-11-16
The Tao of the WU by the RZA is a good read for those pondering the deeper questions of life and survival. Growing up listening to the Wu-Tang and having seen "Ghost Dog" several times (feat. RZA's music and a cameo appearance) I couldn't resist checking out this book, especially after seeing RZA interviewed on The Colbert Report. RZA has a very humble, matter of fact way of describing life challenges that most could only imagine. It's dope to read about the Wu's experiences in China and Africa as well; Hip-Hop is truly universal. I would recommend this book to anybody looking for a good read, inspiration and some crazy Wu-style story telling. peace, ev

This book is a must read for Wu-tang fans and other open minded people. I could not put this book down the first day I got it. I have now studied it for a week. Rza does a great job explaining religion, history and life it's self. This book really moved me more than anything I've picked up in a while. Thank you RZA. Peace

If you like hip-hop music you know Wu-Tang Clan is one of the most influential groups of all time. If you are a fan of the clan this book by RZA is a must read. I have only read 2 books in my life from front cover to back cover this being one of them. Once i opened it i was hooked, i even skipped classes to read this book.
Enlightenment, bong bong!

As someone who grew up on the wu-tang and idolized their wordplay, buying this book was a no brainer. I purchased the wu-tang manual years before and found it to be thought provoking ,nostalgic and stimulating. The RZA, being the head of the clan, had to drop heavy science in this book right? Yes he did. i love how he uses his travels as lessons and shows the wisdom and growth he has acheived thru real world experience. It is a joy to read. It is heavy with nation of gods and earth theology but so is wu music. pick it up and read onion head!
