| This book is in great condition, except for some pictures in the book which had some drawings on it, which I would had rather it didn't have. The book is a page turner, and the writting is great.... |

Surprising Submitted on: 2008-08-30 |

| This book surprised me A LOT. I never knew Billie Piper went through so much (example: anorexia). Also, being American, I never knew QUITE how famous she really was. And is, I guess. It is also a good perspective on just how difficult "fame" is. A girl following her dreams turns into a suffering anorexic, unable to break an addiction. I loved this book, despite the grim details included in this review. I also find it amazing that somebody so young can fill up so many pages about her life!! It just shows how detailed the book is. I highly recommend this book. |

Surprisingly Good Read Submitted on: 2008-07-11 |

| You might think there wouldn't be enough for a very young adult to write a huge autobiography about, that's what I thought. But I was wrong! It is full of fascinating details on her life so far. Drugs (and not the kind you might think), anorexia, how she fell into a singing career very early on when her passion is and has always been acting, taking care of young siblings when her mom kinda flaked out, marriage, etc. I bought this book simply because I was a fan of hers from Dr. Who. I was very pleasantly surprised that this is an excellent book. |

Celebrity hilarity Submitted on: 2008-02-15 |

First thing's first: in many ways, this book is hilariously bad. Piper's ghostwriter could perhaps be forgiven for misspelling names throughout the book, but the copy-editor who let these errors through -- and they're not exactly the names of obscure people -- was plainly not doing his/her job. On one page, Billie's own name is misspelled.
Second thing's second: this isn't actually bad. The structure, which initially flits back and forth through various points in Piper's career, is confusing, but that's a problem quickly overcome. It's an interesting look at the British pop scene of the 1990s, with Billie constructed as a solo Spice Girl, marketed to separate middle-class pubescent girls from their cash. Piper is good company, and reading this, you almost feel like you're sitting next to her in a pub (of course), having a few drinks while she tells some stories. It's not great literature; it's not even a great biography, but it's not a bad read at all. |
