Simply one of the best Contemporary Jazz Duets I've ever heard! Submitted on: 2009-05-26 |

| This cd is a must have for any contemporary jazz fan! If you love guitar or excellent contemporary jazz this is one of those hidden gems. I bought this cd last year and it is still in my cd changer. My favorite on this album are Fun In The Dark, Crosstown Kids, Low Steppin, and After The Rain. This is one of the very few jazz albums that don't have any skips in it. The whole album is triple A. Please do yourself a favor and pick this album up you won't ever be disappointed! |

Larry & Lee: Exceptional Indeed Submitted on: 2003-08-18 |

| An absolutely outstanding jazz CD. The louder you play it the better it sounds! I had put this on my wish list many years ago after a chance hearing on the radio and was not disappointed at first spin. After a 15 second warm up, Larry & Lee begin trading licks on Crosstown Kids. The mellow Low Steppin' accents the reasons these two are at the top of jazz guitar. Drummer Harvey Mason provides the thump on L.A. Underground and the supporting cast fills with perfection as Larry & Lee romp all around this bouncy number (turn it up!.) Omar Hakim slides in on skins for Closed Door Jam, again everything clicks perfectly. My favorite cut is the Ritenour penned, After The Rain featuring Larry & Lee tripping effortlessly, trading riffs while the support cast adds just enough support to let us know they are there, never once overshadowing the guitar work. Once I put this baby in the player it didn't come out for a long while. Not a bad cut on the whole disc. If you are a Larry Carlton or Lee Ritenour fan, you must have this CD, no question!! If you don't have any music by either one, perhaps this is the one you should start with!! |

Pure Magic!!! Submitted on: 2002-07-10 |

| If you're a jazz guitar fan, this cd will blow you away. Impossible to pick a favorite track because every one is pure magic. Tasteful, intelligent smooth-jazz at it's best. Larry & Lee - if you read this - please get together and make another cd. It would be a shame if this turns out to be your only collaboration... |

A geniuos mix! Submitted on: 2001-07-21 |

| The Larry and Lee project is probably the most exciting collaboration in jazz-music the last decade. The record is a superb mix of jazz, funk, country and rock music. The two guitarist get the chance too play with, against, and for each other. It`s no show-off-record but a record which puts the melody and the guitar itself in center. It`s filled with top musicians who know how to play along with these two skilled and magnificant guitar players. |
