Well we all know where we can rank this record. Defiently a landmark in the straight edge revolution, which ranks at the very top since the post Minor threat era. If you are into the " class of 88" bands, this is the one to pick up. Angry, motivated, and determined were YOT. Their agenda did not sit well with everyone, but to each his own. This is a classic that shouldnt be without in any collection.
Greatest Record in Existance

Yes you heard me, none can match the greatness of said album. This is the blueprint of except it is more exciting than any ordinary blueprint my friend, this is rad in full real life color homie. Anyway, it's hard to explain why this is so great, it's self evident honestly. This is where your favorite sing alongs were birthed from, intense lyrics (some say preachy and I say "ha" to that) and a voice that is like no other. Everyone wants Ray Cappo, I know I do. Anyways, this is the archetype of records, the pinacle the first classic full length. break Down the Walls is hyped to , it's decent but it's not solid or consistent. Honestly kid if your like, I need to have the greatest record ever recorded, you'd be a full not to include this in your collection.

A FOOL!

Post Script: I wrote this on a computer with a really retarded internet filter, so words like "death" and "hardcore" got filtered out, like you cannot type the word "hardcore" into the internets on that computer, it'd get erased. Needless to say I could edit this but when I really think about it, this is not only the greatest hardcore record, but it's the greatest record ever, so I'll keep it the way it is, I just thought it was really humorous.

As a huge YOT fan since the beginning, this record was a very difficult one for me. This album features some of the worst production I have ever heard. Basement tapes sound better than this. Furthermore, the instruments are often out of sync with the drums (which is odd, since I know these guys can play), and the vocals off time from the rest of the band. As I listened, I wondered if they had even bothered to listen to what they'd recorded before mixing and pressing the record, it's that bad.

Despite this, you can tell that most of these songs would be hardcore classics if only they could be realized sonically, but the production is just too disappointing. "Flame Still Burns" and "Slow Down" would have been brilliant, for example.

If you're new to YOT, pick up "Can't Close My Eyes" or "Break Down the Walls" - this one is for fans only.

this is the greatest hardcore album ever created, period. it even beats out minor threat's complete discography for that title. every single song on the album is an anthem worth screaming along with and the lyrics are great. if you are into hardcore music it is imperative that you OWN this album.
reissue deserved...

this album is great. i'm not sXe or vegan, but i do appreciate this record a lot. y.o.t. was a great band, with cappo's distinct vocals and a somewhat revolving-door style backing that always layed down fast, hard-hitting hardcore. (...)
