Nunca debió La India dejar la protección musical de Eddie Palmieri que fue quién la descubrió. Este es su mejor album, antes de que decidiera tomar un camino más comercial y probablemente más rentable.
Indispensable. |

Good album, with a couple of real standouts Submitted on: 2007-10-17 |

Having only been seriously listening to salsa/merengue for about 6 years, I am only now starting to listen to La India.
Since none of my current favorite Latina singers (Olga, Milly, and Albita) are really salsa singers, and the salsa I listen to is male, I do find her quite intriguing and look forward to hearing more.
The arrangements are by Sergio George, a salsa arranger that I generally dislike as being mechanical and hyperactive, but here he does better work than I have previously heard from him - indeed, Nunca Voy Olvidarte, Ese Hombre, and Dejate Amar, are downright inspired.

Latin Soul. Love her voice. Submitted on: 2005-09-25 |

| Thank you Musica for introducing me to this album. I can listen to this India CD all day and never get tired of hearing her sing. She has such a soulful voice and sing with great expression. I am also an Africa American female who cannot speak spanish(haven't since high school) but I can sing her songs. My favorite is O Ella O Yo. I love to sing that song. I especially love the way she adds a salsa twist to George Benson's R&B classic, "I Just Wanna Hang Around You". On her album "Sobre el Fuego" she also adds a latin twist to Chaka Khan's R&B Hit "Through The Fire". If La India comes to your town, you must go & see her perform. Musica & I went to see her when she came to Philly for the 4th of July Welcome America celebration in 2004 during the Salsa On The Parkway event. She has soooo much energy & knows how the work up the audience. La India...keep the songs coming. |

| I went to school with India back in the Bronx and it was evident that Linda aka India was destined fror greatness! all her music not limmited to Salsa. Everytime she performs in Orlando I make sure I do not miss it. Her voice is a beautiful in person as it is on record. No special affects there baby it's all her! Buy all her music you will not be disappointed! |

| My mom introduced me to La India a couple years ago, I think when I was about 16..I am now 20 and I have'nt stopped listening to her since..My mom introduced me to the song, Ese Hombre and I played that song out..But then she had to give me the album!! I was so done after that..Im a black female but I love all kinds of music, and salsa is no exception..La India has such a passion in her voice that I call her the latin Teena Marie (who is my favorite singer)..I cant describe her voice..She just takes you places and she has such a range..Oh my god!!! Im so in love with her voice..You cant go wrong with La India..I recently saw her live at a salsa festival here in Philly and she sounds just as good live if not better...She's talented, sweet and beautiful..Get the album if you dont have it..My fave tracks are basically all of them...But Im still hooked to Ese hombre..She murders that song and tears the man down all at the same time..Very passionate..Get the album please!!!! |
