Gorgeous Submitted on: 2009-01-18 |

| This is a timeless ochestrial masterpiece. No one does it quite like the Philly Orchestra. This is one that I have listened to every Christmas season for decades. A must have for any library. The digital regeneration of this album is very well done and adds even more texture to the music. |

excellent holiday background music Submitted on: 2009-01-17 |

| This is the album from my youth while opening packages! Was excited to find it in CD form. All beautiful orchestra instrumentals on the holiday classics. Perfect for holiday moodsetting background music. Also nice to play while driving to get into the holiday spirit! One of our all time favorites. |

If you only own one Christmas music recording ... Submitted on: 2008-12-18 |
|
| ... this is THE ONE! Like several of the other reviewers of this magnificent recording, I originally bought it as an LP and literally wore it out. It has been used to greet Christmas morning in my home ever since. The first cut, "Hark the Herald Angels Sing," NEVER FAILS to make me a bit leaky around the eyes, especially when the chorale comes in. Many of the same cuts are on the very similar "Joy to the World" CD by the same artists, but in a different order. Greeting the newborn Savior on Christmas morn with the trumpet fanfare in "Hark" is part of what has come to define my Christmas. |

Both great instrumentals and vocals Submitted on: 2008-01-31 |

| This was another album we always listened to when I was a child. It's kind of Mormon Tabernacleish sounding, with all the religious songs of the holidays right there. Not a secular one in the batch. But for that lush Sixties Christmas sound, with loads of strings and smoothness (can you say Muzak) it cannot be beat. I like to turn it up loud and sing along--then put on the Billboard Christmas favorites or Jimmy Buffet's Christmas as an antidote right afterward. |
