Bring on the memories Submitted on: 2009-11-14 |

I was a child back in the 1970's. I remember my mother playing the album (that's a vinal LP record to you youngsters). I heard 'Count Your Blessings' on a local radio station during Christmas 2008. It really brought back some memories of Christmas'es past. I looked on Amazon and found this CD. Upon putting it in my player, I was down memory lane with just about every song on it. I forgot about 'Ring Christmas Bells' on this album. Even if you don't know Ray Conniff or didn't grow up in the 1970's, this is a truly classic Christmas album that should be heard by all generations.
The back of the CD does list about 16 tracks, but the CD will only come up with 6 tracks. They combined the songs into a medley setup, but it does not detract from the recording. Just start at track 1 and let it go.
Happy Thanksgiving and Merry Christmas!

Upbeat, fun Christmas music Submitted on: 2009-09-08 |

This album may seem rather brief with a playing time under 32 minutes, but it was originally recorded at a time when that was a typical album length. Nevertheless, Ray Conniff and his singers pack plenty into this Christmas album by stringing many of the songs together as medleys, yet avoiding the trap of making any of the song segments too brief to annoy listeners. Indeed, most of them seem to be close to full length. Only two songs (Ring Christmas bells, Twelve days of Christmas) are performed as entire tracks.
The emphasis is on the festive side of Christmas. Little drummer boy (the second half of the first medley) together with the first three songs in the final medley (The first Noel, Hark the herald angels sing, O come all ye faithful) represent the religious aspects.
The variety of voices with different lead singers makes for a great album that everybody should be able to enjoy.

One of the Best Recordings Submitted on: 2009-02-24 |

| As an older and conservative lover of good music, I had always like Ray Conniff recordings. "We Wish You A Merry Christmas" to me is one of the best renditions of traditional Christmas songs. I already owned an old 33-1/3 RPM vynil record, but to enjoy it more, I decided to buy the CD version. Modern arrangement in the Ray Conniff style, yet the "substance" of the songs are intact. |

Great CD! Submitted on: 2009-01-07 |

| This is a great CD of traditional Christmas songs, mixed together in a wonderful way. I especially like the fact that they included Count Your Blessings Instead of Sheep in one of the groups. |
