As A Young Black Man I am mostly a Soul and R&B/Jazz/Blues listener.
However by me being a musician myself I took it upon myself
To try to widen my musical scope.

I wanted to be a very well rounded musician so I started listening to styles of music that are outside what im used to.

I bought this album on cassette by Billy Dean at the 99Cent store for a dollar and its probably one of the best buys ive ever made, , the other being Isaac Hayes The Polydor Years that I got from the music store for $8.00.

I put This Billy Dean Cassette in my player not really expecting to be
Very excited about what I was going to hear but..... Boy was I wrong.

I love every song on this album but I keep "Fire In The Dark" on repeat and when I put a song on repeat it means I really like it.

Im even going to buy the CD so I can add it to compilations that I make.

The Music is Mellow and Mr. Deans voice is in Supreme Form as he Serenades the listener on a musical journey on this album from start to finish.

Im saying this as a Musician I play good music so I know it when I hear it
Anybody who dislikes or belittles this album should be fired , put up against a wall and hit repeatedly until the sense that got knocked out of their heads gets knocked back in.

Im looking forward to spending my money on some more Billy Dean CD's

This is one of the best albums I've ever heard. And coming from me that says a lot because there are precious few albums that I will say I like every song on.

Extension Of A Man(Donny Hathaway) Groove-A-Thon(Isaac Hayes) - Here My Dear(Marvin Gaye) - Give Me The Reason(Luther Vandross) - Louder Than Words(Lionel Richie) - Here At The Mayflower(Barry Manilow) Etc.

Purchasing This Album Would Not Be A Waste Of Money
It Will Be A Asset To Any Serious Music Lovers Music Collection.

Billy Dean is such a talented singer and should've recived more recognition and accolade for his music than he has. This 1993 release is one of his best. I loved the title song and remember playing it repeatedly when it came out and one of the other really great songs on this is: I wanna take care of you which should've become a #1 hit. Buy this cd,it is well worth the cost and is not priced that high.

I remember the first time I stuck this cd in my cd player. It got better with every second that went by. I kept thinking, "Man Billy Dean has finally figured it out, and now all the critics can't say he has no style anymore." I couldn't wait for the reviews to come out.

Then they came out, and not a one of them was positive!! All of them said, "Billy Dean really goofed this time!! Not only does he have no style, he has now went pop!"

What???!!!!! This cd, while not a classic, is one of the best released in 1993. All the songs are well chosen and fit nicely. The playing is perfect, and Billy's robust and crystal clear voice is right up front leading the way.

The title song deserved to be a number one hit, as well as the definate version of "We Just Disagree."

I think everyone should have this cd, and for the prices I see above, there's no excuse not to.

Just do yourself a favor, forget every review you have ever read that has been written about Billy Dean.

Just to make something clear. I am a fan of classic country music. I can't stand today's "poptry" So don't think I am a new country fan who likes this cd because I can line dance to it. It actually has artistic value.
