Delightful Debut From Sherrie! Submitted on: 2009-10-17 |

Sherrie starts off her career with this charming debut Words.
Full of hurtin' country ballads and catchy uptempos.
Some gems include the lovely ballads One Solitary Tear,That's No Way To Break A Heart,You Keep On Lovin' Me and the wonderful title track Words.
There's also some upbeat uptempos like Lucky In Love,Tenderly and Put Your Heart Into It.
Sherrie co-wrote the majority of the tracks and sings with a soulful voice that reminds me a little of Dolly Pardon. If you like your 90's country then this little gem won't disappoint.Highly recommended! |

Pop music was the place to start ................ Submitted on: 2009-07-17 |

This album should not have been made. She had a sweet, intense voice back then, but it was a pop voice, not a country voice, so she was ill-equipped to try and set ten ordinary country songs alight.
And furthermore, she had no soul, which is not a criticism. She was a successful actress and a very good singer. But she was too sweet and young and happy to make country work. She could have been a great pop singer, but I guess she didn't know that, or didn't want it.
The voice shows strength from many years of singing. I hope the day comes when the woman she is matches the song she's singing, to produce a big hit. |

Words Don't Do It Justice Submitted on: 2007-05-31 |

This album is great. It's lame that Sherrie didn't get bigger than she did. She has a superb voice, powerful and with a hint of her Australian accent. The album is about love and relationships, looking at them from various angles and moods. Notable songs [they're all at least solid] are:
Lucky in Love - Sherrie leads off with a high energy, almost rocking, song about not being able to find the right guy.
Innocent Man - energetic song about the singer longing for Mr. Right.
One Solitary Tear - shows off Sherrie's voice - can really do a slow song
Fall in Love So Hard it Hurts - uptempo toe tapper. Singer wants a passionate romance. There's a cool guitar lick in the middle.
Tenderly - nice flow
Put Your Heart Into It - sassy and punchy, singer challenges a guy just to get serious about loving her, don't worry about extras. Good lyrics. Example: "can lead a horse to water but can't make him drink, can send a boy to college but can't make him think."
Excellent album overall. Gem for your collection. |

Sherrie Rules Submitted on: 2004-04-11 |

| This CD is awesome, I rate it only behind "Love In The Real World" as a Sherrie CD, there is "Put Your Heart Into It" which ranks only behind "All That Matters" (From "Love In The Real World") as a top flight Sherrie song. "Lucky In Love", "Words" and "Thats No Way To Break A Heart" are not far behind. This is a must have CD, for ANY country fan. If you have no Sherrie CDs, get "Love In The Real World" first (It is hard to get), then get "Words". They both are in my top 5 CD's of the 90s (I have a review of "Love In The Real World" please read about it, if interested). This is the REAL "Queen Of Country Music", not Shania, Faith, or The Chicks. Sherrie Rules. |

Top Country Talent!!! Submitted on: 2004-02-15 |

Right from the get go Sherrie Austin proved she was country's top talent. It's hard to go wrong with songs like Lucky In Love,Words, and especially Put Your Heart Into It. The songs are sassy without being arrogant and Sherrie can cover all emotions from happy to sad in one CD. This CD should have obviously been a big seller if radio would have pushed it more. If you like your music real and fun buy this CD. |
