Who cares if they were "manufactured?" They could still hold their own against much of the competition Submitted on: 2009-04-30 |

| Nowadays, the creation of "pseudo-groups" strictly for television entertainment is a heavily over-employed practice that usually ends up having been a bad idea. However, back in 1966, when The Monkees were created for their own show, this was one of the first such instances of this, and today it still remains one of the finest. Though not visionaries like The Beatles or The Beach Boys, the group did have one of THE feel-good hits of all time with their #1 "I'm A Believer," and this collection does a good job of showing that they were solid performers who could do a variety of material without sounding fake or insubstantial. |

| I bought this for my mom's birthday, and since I am a Monkees fan as well, we both enjoyed this CD very much! It has all their greatest hits and if you really love The Monkees, I recommend this! Even if you only watch their television show, you should try listening to their music as well! |

| My mom is a big Monkees fan, but I think they're okay. The only song I like that they sing is I'm a Believer. For a long time, I've loved this song. If you are a Monkees fan, you'll love THE MONKEES GREATEST HITS!!! |

Stop, In the Name of Hits Submitted on: 2008-11-22 |

The Monkees have been packaged and re-packaged so much that it is sometimes quite baffling to figure out where to start when trying to track down a good "greatest hits" package without taking a great hit in the bank account.
Well, the look is over.
This 20 song collection captures what made the group a hit machine, with some nice tidbits in the mix. Granted, the foursome was a corporate creation, but it cannot be denied the immense pop culture impact they had back in the day and continue to have in the entertainment industry. The one-disc collection at an affordable price gives the listener a good overview of a group that grew into the role of recording artists. |

| As a special education teacher, I play a wide variety of music from around the world for my students, every era, from pop to classic to heavy metal. My students get into the beat with something that has a good one. With this album, their positive response was immediate as was my own for this was the music of my generation. Great product with super and rapid shipment. This is why I continue to do my online shopping with Amazon and refer my education friends and parents to your site. |
