awesome Submitted on: 2009-09-12 |

| This is a great CD! I grew up listening to(and singing along with)volume one at home. We never knew there was a volume two! Having the words helps us to learn all the songs from the 2nd one! I would recommend this product to any Stan Freeberg fan and if you have no idea who he is --- this will make you laugh and laugh! History "retold" in a hysterical way! A must for any comedy fan! |

Stan Freburg presents the United States of America, was great. It is a very hard item to find, and the sound was great. All the little details that make this one of the funniest albums, were all clear, and really made the album. Thanks for the service.

Volume one is classic corny early sixties humor, but very funny and inspired. Volume 2, made decades later, is more formulaic, referring back to material in Volume 1, and more interesting to those who appreciated the first one years before. Volume 2 cannot really stand on its own.
Worth buying the set, though, since that's how you can get the CD of the original. |

Stan Freburg a great comedian Submitted on: 2009-04-10 |

I first heard Stan Freburg when I was about 8 years old.He was one of several voices on The Adventures of "Beany and Cecil the Sea Sick Serpent" on KTLA in Los Angeles.
I bought the Lp version of "The USA the Early years" when it first came out and played over and over through the years. An extremely funny album with excellent music.
Like many other fans of Stan Freburg,I waited and waited for Volume 2 to be released. It was a good follow up to vol 1,but the music was not up to the quality of the first album.
I have enjoyed listening to his other hits, including his biting satire on the commercialization of Christmas"Green Christmas.
I also have the complete set of his radio shows from the late 50s with the hilarious bit"Elderly Man River"
Stan's works are tremendously funny and entertaining. |

| You can't rush into a sequel--35 years should be enough time. Fabulous. Old original material has been found as well as the new Vol. 2. LOL. |
