| When I moved to Seattle, one comment I got was "good for you, that's where Fastbacks are from". I had never heard of them but after a while I bought their latest (The Day That Didn't Exist). One week later I owned five of their albums but this is the one I like best. (Unfortunately "Zucker", mentioned by a previous reviewer, is very strangely mixed so you barely hear the texts, otherwise it would be up there too.) You should really get this one, and pump up the volume! |

| This power-pop, pop-punk, album by the Fastbacks plays out like a symphony from song to song.Excellent female vocals and the best guitar in rock today, each song has it's own distint riff and hooks, yet they all flow effortlessly together. If you've heard the fastbacks, you already know, and yes, you NEED this one. If you've never heard the fastbacks, this (or their previous ZUCKER) is a great place to start. NOBODY takes the time and effort to produce such consistent and amazing records like this except THE FASTBACKS!! |
