| The voice came across ok, but some of the background sounds woiuld distort when played on my TV or laptop. Maybe I should connect my CD player to a stereo amplifier with larger speakers. |

| My grandma introduced me to Mario back about 20 years ago when we watched The Great Caruso. Since I have always loved Mario! But when I bought this CD this winter after watching Singing to the Gods on OPB that was it! I was lost and I have been obsessed ever since! Now I have many CDs of Mario after buying this CD. Even my daughter who is 12 loves it! Her friends listen to it too! He was the greatest Tenor! You will be so happy you bought this. It is a great CD. I do have to say I do not care for the album cover. Mario was so handsome they did not need to make him up so much. He was always handsome just the way he was. |

Mario Lanza proves once more his unsurpassed gifts for the belle canto with an outstanding easiness, limpid intonation, and engrossing conveyance even for the most exigent listener.
This album includes two well known aspects of his career, the easy to listen pieces of well reminded soundtracks and unforgettable melodies and then a brief incursion in the light classic repertoire.
These recordings are absolutely a must for all those who admired and still keep being hard fans of his craft. Don't miss it!

They certainly don't write songs or music like this anymore. When you hear Mario Lanza's voice, especially in the higher register singing these great classic songs, it can bring a tear to the eye or choke you up - emotionally. To state the obvious, we all react differently to both music and lyrics, however, the voice can be enjoyed by everyone with a passion for a singer with a real god-given gift.
