| Anton is a true genius of the Syd Barret/Rocky ericsson styleee! refreshingly beautiful rock from the 90s that sounds so familiar and cuts through one like a knife and leaves you wanting more, everyone should own a little bit of the BJTM. nothing has sounded better while high 4 a long time. play it over and over again, never tire of Antons beautiful lyrical madness and buy more..its all good man. |

If you saw Dig!, buy this album with confidence. Submitted on: 2007-03-21 |

| I heard about these guys from that movie, Dig!, and I didn't know what to expect. Turns out, they're amazing. There's no comparison to the Dandy Warhols, none. Why they thought they were in competition with a hack band with a few hooks is beyond me. These guys are the real deal. If it wasn't for their lead singer making a jerk of himself and screwing up record deals (which is a storyline that you won't understand once you hear the thoughtful lyrics), these guys would be widely known as one of the best bands in the world. They sound like a throwback from the 60's, but slightly updated. The music is varied and intelligent as anything you've heard. I guess The Rolling Stones might be an apt comparison, but there's something more raw about this band. Look, if you were on the fence, just buy this, you won't be disappointed. |

lets buy a good album Submitted on: 2006-08-26 |

| This may be an album you hate, but I doubt it. I came late to the Brian Jonestown Massacre fan-club, but I'm hooked. This album is a must. If you like rock-n-roll you will like this album. It's packed with a motherlode of energy and originality. They (he) takes everything good about 60's rock and roll and tweaks it so well that you forget that there is any kind of "influence". This is some of the most original music you can find. Sorry I'm not more eloquent, this music deserves it. Buy it. |

Channeling the ghost of Brian Jones? Submitted on: 2005-12-20 |

| So claims Anton Newcombe, brainchild of BJM. I think perhaps Anton is Brian Jones reincarnate. As vividly depicted in the documentary DIG! Anton is one of those rare tortured artists who creates brilliant music and sings of love and freedom, but is incapable of experiencing it himself. Most of the truly legendary music indeed comes from people who struggled with egomania, addiction, self-destructiveness, etc. BJM is instantly associated with early Stones and The Who. Their sound is pure and beyond the grasp of the formula Top 40 commercialization of the recording industry. These early albums are instant classics and timeless. If you want 100% organic rock and roll buy this and other BJM CDs. |
