Some of his Best Submitted on: 2004-09-04 |

| It's unfortunate as of this posting that I see that this album is seemingly rare and people want to charge a lot for it. But I highly suggest you do a hunt for it somewhere at a reasonable price. I caught this album when it first came out, and I also caught the other album someone released "Ultimate Benny Hill", which are both great. This album is some of his more recent work and shows how much more honed he became with getting the music and lyrics just a bit more right, while the Ultimate Album are songs he recorded long ago early in his career yet still show all his whit and wisdom even way back then. You may notice a couple of repeat songs on both albums, but they are both different versions with a bit of different lyrics, and clearly recorded at different times. You may also notice that some small lyrics in a few songs seem to repeat themselves, and I may attribute that to either Benny either wanted a little extra filler for some songs, or he thought the joke lines were so good to use them again. That's where some of Benny's whit comes into play. He really had a way with words, either in his skits, or in the many many many songs he had done over the years. I only wish someone would dig out all those recordings of so many songs he had done over the years, and start doing more compilation CD albums. So don't miss out on either of the Albums so you can enjoy your time doing chores around the house, or riding along in the car, or maybe even while at work (provided you have permission to do so, not that anything is really dirty in any of the songs, just a bit of insinuations now and then, yet certainly clean enough for most all of the family, which is where also lots of talent used to come from years ago and where quite a bit of comedians lack). |
