Never Say Never Reviews from Amazon.com

Real music, January 19, 2012
This review is from: Never Say Never (Audio CD)
This cd is great, I wish more singers would sing like brandy. You don't here to much from her now but in the 90's she was a mega star for obvious reasons. Brandy has a great voice and sings about things that so many people can relate to. She has great songs you can dance too, and she also has songs that make you want to fall in love.
This cd is a must have if you like real r&b.

One of Brandy's Best Albums, December 21, 2011
This review is from: Never Say Never (Audio CD)
"Never Say Never" is without a doubt one of the singer's best album to date. The songs sound much more personal and believable, and the music is well produced. Everything sounds original and without flaw; this is definitely one of my favorite R&B albums from 98. My personal favorites are:
2. Angel in Disguise
3. The Boy is Mine
5. Almost Doesn't Count
7. U Don't Know Me
8. Have You Ever?
13. Happy
15. Tomorrow, and
16. Everything I Do

Put in ur Car stereo and enjoy, December 13, 2010
This review is from: Never Say Never (Audio CD)
Of all of the Brandy albums that I own, this is probably the most played. I purchased this album a few months ago and I was blown away. I was only a child when Brandy was dominant in the industry. So I did not own any music, but I do remember liking Brandy a lot.
I think that this album was well put together; it comes off as cohesive to me. It just makes sense. I can see how this album went on to sell 5 million in the US.
Stand out songs are: Angel in Disguise, Almost Doesn't Count, Never Say Never, Have You Ever, Put that On Everything, Happy, One Voice, Tomorrow, and Everything I Do. I know I just listed the entire album practically (lol). But the tracks are hot. Not to impugn the rest of the track. This is one of those CDs you put in your car. For me, albums that go in my car player don't require me to press the next button.
In comparison to Brandy's other studio albums this would have to be at the very top along with "Human". Before I obtained this album I liked Brandy but now I love her. RNB at its best. She needs to come back out and show up all the little people who think they run the business.

One Of The Best Albums Ever Made, November 16, 2010
This review is from: Never Say Never (Audio CD)
Brandy really came into her own on this cd. While I love her first one (another classic) this album sent her from a diva with a little ''d'' to a big ''D''. I got this cd when it first came out and I couldn't stop playing it. Every song on here is a banger! My favorites are ''Tomorrow'', ''Angel in Disguise'', and ''Truthfully''. The songs on here are very mature and at times do seem a little forced for someone who was her age. I mean ''Have You Ever?'' really should have been a Whitney song. Her voice has a more mature sound than Brandy's. Overall this alblm is strong and lives up to the hype.

She looks prettier, but does not sound better .................., November 7, 2010
This review is from: Never Say Never (Audio CD)
The trying too hard, that pervaded her first album, is still everywhere on this album. Primarily it manifests as an out of control use of melisma. She never sings just one note where she can fit five or six in. She has reigned this tendency in recently, but it helps destroy everything here in combination with her "little girl" vocal style.
This album is fundamentally different from her first because there are good songs here. But she was still too young to make them work. She has a really nice voice. All she needs is the maturity to use it well. That maturity has been slow in coming. She must forget trying to make an impression and let the pure, unforced voice be heard. Other than in exceptional circumstances, one note is always enough if the voice is good enough, and this one is.
Her youthful mentor was Whitney Houston, the queen of song as pretentious drama instead of as emotion made powerful by being sung directly from the heart. There is a lesson there.

Nice and Mellow, July 7, 2010
This review is from: Never Say Never (Audio CD)
While Brandy's breathy, quiet voice won't blow anyone away, the CD at least shows more class than that of other female R&B artists out there. The lyrics aren't too much about sex or anything else like that. Some of the songs are actually really pretty. The whole album has a very mellow feel to it.

Never Say Never, February 3, 2010
This review is from: Never Say Never (Audio CD)
Brandy delivers a fresh-sounding, well- crafted sound on this CD. as much like pop as it does R&B. Brandy's composure and experience shine through in a product that is 16 songs deep. This CD is a treasure for me to keep.
