I thought this was the actual soundtrack with the songs not the background music Submitted on: 2008-12-16 |
|
| I didn't know this was the background music, I wanted the CD with the artists singing. |

| I thought that this was the actually songs from the movie....not the score. Nice, but not sure who wants to listen to random movie scores. |

Hope Floats - Original Soundtrack Submitted on: 2007-03-08 |

This was not the soundtrack that I wanted. I wanted the soundtrack with the Garth Brooks song on it and some of the other more recognizable songs from the movie - not instrumentals. I was really disappointed and will continue to try to find the soundtrack I want.

Too Little For The Money! Submitted on: 2004-12-09 |

| When I saw the film credits for soundtrack--composer/jazz musician Dave Grusin--a favorite of mine from days past, I said to myself "This has GOT to be a winner!" BUT...I jumped into the pool before checking there was water in there. It's good, don't get me wrong--but typical Grusin, suprisingly too little piano (his trademark) soulful OR jazz and the CD's 11 selections come off like any other pop album rather than segwayed into a true "soundtrack" experience. I tried hard to hear scenes from the film there, but failed in that effort missing two of the best, 1] the dance hall scene featuring Birdee and Jason (Sandra Bullock and Harry Connick Jr.), and 2] the successful attempt to get Bernice out of the dumps by her family/school chums in a lip-synced and to me--hilarious--scenario, two of the best from the film. Then to top that disappointment, the CD last only 30 minutes and some seconds, WAY TOO SHORT considering the music I heard watching the film, and making the CD pretty pricey for the music provided. It's good Grusin, but sorry to say I didn't find much--if any--Hope Floats there. (Sorry Dave!) |
