| I have been a fan of the Sons of the Pioneers for 44 years. This CD contains a great selection of their skill and harmony in cowboy and western songs. There are no "bad songs" on this albumn. They truly stand above all the rest in this genre! |

Real Western Music

When I hear the phrase 'country and western' music, this is the 'western' part of it I think about. I can't add much to some of the good reviews that have been done here. But I can say it's a superb collection of music, and many of the songs you may never have heard before. You are in for a treat. When you hear Cool Water you will have to drink some water afterwards because you can feel the cowboy's thirst as he is searching for that drink of cool water. Bob Nolan, who wrote the song, was a genius and his distinctive voice makes the recording so memorable you will never forget it. I believe you have to be a poet to be a good songwriter. You feel like you are right there with the cowboys as they sing and yodel their way down the trail. This will bring back memories of the movies you watched as a kid (if you are old enough), and hearing Roy Rogers and The Sons of the Pioneers sing some of these songs. However, the sound on these recordings make them even better than you will remember. Marvelous.
This is a superb collection of songs and I recommend buying it. This will be one of your favorite collections and you will listen to it over and over. |

"Cool Water" is a true classic. It really doesn't matter if you do not normally listen to Western or perhaps Country-Western music. The songs and music presented here by The Sons Of The Pioneers is truly a beautiful gift to the ear. And to receive this classic via Amazon.com is the easiest and speediest way to get the things I want.
