A great, upbeat song that keeps you going. Submitted on: 1999-05-10 |

| I always liked upbeat songs like this one. I would easily get bored listening to oldies on my car radio, but since this song is played every day or two it perks me up. It's not the kind of song you would play if you were, say, doing homework or reading, but it's great for upbeat activities and even parties. I definitely recommend this single if you're suffering from depression; it helps. |

Greatest song of the millenium! Submitted on: 1999-02-12 |

| I had given up hope of ever hearing a decent new song in the 90s til I heard this one! This is the first song I've heard in 10 years or more that has made the list of "Last sound I want to hear before I die" songs. (only about a dozen songs on this exclusive list and I've been around for a while!) I love Tony's voice and the way he and Miles harmonize together. Miles' guitar solo is HOT HOT HOT!!! It reminds me a little bit of Hotel California (see I told you I've been around for a while) but it's more happy and upbeat. And Joey is a fantastic drummer, that Latin beat really reaches out and grabs you. I also loved the imaginitive lyrics. I think he hit on a universal fantasy everyone can relate to--with all of us having jobs we hate, dysfunctional families, annoying relationships, etc. who wouldn't want to "just drive off and leave it all behind them"? This song is so burned into my brain circuitry that one night this summer when I was about to go home from my job (a definite "exit to eternal summer slacking"), my car wouldn't start and I had to go find someone to give me a jump, and instead of mumbling "Oh s__t!" like normal people I was walking across the parking lot belting out "AND WHEN THE CAR BROKE DOWN THEY STARTED WALKING!" What can I say, I'm totally obsessed with this song and this band! |
