Customer Reviews of This Album/CD

100% Brutal Oppressive Death Metal
Submitted on: 2002-01-11
This is an album that many death metal fans should look into. I already heard of this band before because I saw their Europeon Oppression/As The Blood Flows CD at a Camelot Music store only a year before finding this CD. I still regret not buying it. So anyway, when I first saw this CD at a listening booth at Best Buy, I jumped at the change to listen to it and being a fan of brutal death metal and bands like Malevolent Creation, Deicide and Cannibal Corpse, I was very impressed as well as pumped up. So I bought it some days later and I listened to all of it. My only complaint is that it was a little too short but despite that, the album totally ripped.

Now for my review. This is accually the band's last album before calling it quits. For those who don't know, 3 of the band members are accually Tim King, Adam Zadel and Tom Schofield who are now in a rock band called Soil. I'm sure that some of you have hear of them since they're huge now. Anyway, when the band called it quits, Tim, Tom and Adam when into Soil which also features Shaun from Broken Hope. While the 3 guys were in Oppressor, as a death metal band, they put out some really ungue yet heavy, brutal death metal. This is just one of the albums that they put out and it's a really awesome one indeed. I mean this is 100% professional, classy, kicking, heavy, all-out, aggressive, intense, powerful, well produced, talented, brutal death metal the way it should be. This is one of the reasons why I listen to death metal. The vocals are brutal and sound very much like those on Morbid Angel's Blessed Are The Sick and Covenent, the bass pounds like a hammer, the drums rip and the guitars are awesome. The musicianship, creativity and the music itself is incredable. Some of my favorite songs here are Kingdom Of The Dead, Upon The Uncreation, I Depise, Vulgur Illusions and the short intrimental outro, Lost In Sorrow. If you love Malevolent Creation, Morbid Angel, Nile, Cannibal Corpse, Deicide and Divine Empre, than pick this one up. You'll be impressed. Also, check their other albums like Agony and Solstice Of Oppression. Get Agony first and than Solstice Of Oppression which is more for the underground fan.
