One of those truly "great" finds! Submitted on: 2008-04-10 |
| I stumbled upon this CD and just had to take a chance on it. Almost every cut is very, very good! Excellent overall is how I can best describe it. A very nice surprise. If you like older show tunes done in the style of big theatre - this one is for you. Lots of fun and very enjoyable listening. No disappointment here! |

Greatest Surprise compilation perhaps of all time! Submitted on: 2003-12-23 |
| I am a HUGE musical theatre fan - constantly on the look-out for interesting new releases of lesser known composers. This is perhaps the best surprise I've ever found. When I bought it, I didn't realize that the music was so old- and that these writers had also done 'Kismet' and 'Song of Norway' and a variety of others. I generally tend to like and relate better to newer theatre music - but this is truly the exception. Just about every song on this CD has become my 'new' favorite at some point in the last 6 months. There's an ongoing travel theme in the song selection, and honestly, by the time I finish the CD, I get the same feeling I have when I'm walking through and airport - strangely transported and OVER excited. It's fantastic music - amazing selection of songs - a REAL surprise! You'll feel like you've stolen something! |
