If you're a Trance fanatico, you'll have your own take on this, there's much to malign and yet, just on the experience. It's unchallenged, I personally like this mix to anything Oakenfold has done before, or since (even the GU mixes). If you've never listened to Trance, or know trance only by what you've heard from Tiesto or Van Dyke. This is truly an inviting mix for those who've never really taken the time to appreciate Trance, for what it is.
I first listened to this mix as a freshman in college, this was the inspiration that took me to Ibiza for 4 straight years. Without this mix, i don't think I would have ever known of Digweed, Van Buren, Cox, Sasha and the likes. I'm now in my early 30's and this record still takes me to those same places that I experienced as a 19 year old.
Oakie might not be the same mixer he once was, but when he's long gone from this planet.. this will be one of the mixes that he'll be remembered by. My daughter is 2 1/2 and she's a fan of tranceport. |

Excellent for a back in time moment

Of course some of the pieces in this compilation have been over used,
But If you are tired of the new trance coming from Armin's visions Asot series and looking for a less pop sounds,and a back in time moment you will love it.With its dynamic transitions and sophisticated melodic sounds this is truly the top 5 trance mixing/compilation albums in the world.When I bought this album because my old one was tape,I just heard some sounds I haven't heard in a decade and it made me get in a whole different state of mind and atmosphere.
To even new comers and pop type non sense vocal 'trance fans' listen to this album and understand where and how innovations where done to the sound of trance and understand the true trance.

| Well, everything has been said already. This is the album that got me into Oakenfold. Thus I used to think this was his best work. But after listening to Resident: 2yrs @ Cream it absolutely toppled Tranceport. I know Resident is hard to find and can be pricey but keep looking for the good deal. It will be worth it. With that said, listening to Tranceport is like taking shots of morphine. Keep'em coming. |

| I tell ya......I LOVE Trance! It can shape my feelings...my mood....it can calm me...or get me all worked up! It's just a cool type of music....and this CD my friedns is one of the BEST Trace CD's out there and my favoite Paul disk! The overall mix is perfect! Upbeat to true trance....it's got it all! Maybe it's me.....but this is a MUST when I travel! I'm NOT KIDDING! Trust me..when you stuck on a plane or in the airport....get a GREAT set of earphones...and just LISTEN! I promise you, you WILL be in a BETTER MOOD AFTER listening to this CD....A sub is NOT optional! ;-) |
