Customer Reviews of This Album/CD

The only rap I ever liked.

Funny as it may seem it's the only rap I like and it owns any garbage put on by any rapper/hiphop loser in the last 20 years. Ice Ice Baby is classic.
ICE ICE BABY.. NO SOUL, NO SOUL. V.I,-DEFENDERS: STUPID!!!

The Amazon.com reviewer for the "Editorial Review" they gave is PURELY a Vanilla Ice fan and as many of these reviewers for Amazon and Allmusic goes, they'll slight other rappers like MC Hammer in favor of someone like Vanilla Ice. Hey "reviewer", Hammer was BEFORE Ice (Reserch: "Feel My Power" and then, "Let's Get It Started") AND was a big part in launching his rise to superstardom. Idiot. When will these people KNOW about the Hip-Hop records they "review"??? Rolling Stone, Blender, Spin, magazines, and networks like even VH1 just don't have a clue.

I remember this album when it was called "Hooked" on Ichiban records untill SBK bought out the contract for $300.000.00 and told VI to add some more songs to it.

"Ice Ice Baby" is probably actually ok. Even "Play That Funky Music". Adding the R&B singing group RIFF to "I Love You" (single & video) was bold and actually helped but it was just the cornball persona that is Ice that kills it. All in all, Ice isn't your Backstreet Boys to your Boyz II Men, he's worse. Plus, look at the fraud he's turned out to be and the whopping lies he continues to tell from the creation of "Ice Ice Baby" to his encounter with Suge Knight! If anything killed his "career" it was those tactics! But, blame it on the part of America (and the rest of the world) who only judge "talent" by appearance and not substance. You know the people i'm talking about.. *W---- A------*. Case and point, the VI defenders in this section.. S-T-U-P-I-D.
An early 1990's masterpiece

I wish people would stop hating on this guy and appreciate his music. Now I have no offense to rap music, but today's rap and hip-hop music of the 21st century today contains violent lyrics, profanity and nasty words of many sorts. I hate today's rap music. This is why I enjoy a good laugh and great talent by listening to Vanilla Ice make fun of rap music. I know that people think he is a clown, but I think he is the most talented white rapper in history. Keep up the good work, Vanilla Ice.
It is time to remember

...just how great this record was when it came out and how everybody unanimously loved it, even the surviving members of the Beatles. George Harrison went so far as to say that "if there was ever a music group to recapture all the enthusiasm of those early [Beatlemania] days, then it is Vanilla Ice."

You put this thing on the stereo, and, so long as its not the instantly recognizable "Ice Ice Baby," this album will get the party "thumpin'." Too bad so many are blinded by some stupid hate of Vanilla. What caused this anyway?
A lyrical genius!

Why do so many people hate this guy? He isn't a novelty act. He's a true rap genius, a visionary. He's like the Chad Kroger of rap- which is a great compliment, considering Nickleback are one of the best bands of all-time! I wish he wasn't a one-hit wonder, though. I'd love to hear more awesome albums by him!
