| Any remnants of Soundgarden has to be great.This cd has undertones of what I believe is the greatest band ever.I hope to see them together again if only for one concert. |

| Being a major Soundgarden fan since the late 80's, I decided to check this out. It's from the bassist and drummer of that band, but whoever said this blows Soundgarden out of the water is insane. It's not bad of course, just different, and obviously similar to Wellwater Conspiracy, that band being a later form of this one. If you're a "Black Hole Sun" kind of SG fan, I assume you might think Hater is just weird, but it's a decent listen given the chance. It isn't as heavy as one might think either. Overall I'm glad I got it, but it won't be replacing "Badmotorfinger" anytime soon. |

| This is a very good record that contains two really outstanding songs: Mona Bone Jakon (a Cat Stevens cover!) and Tot Finder. Dig this Grunge-rock side project up and you will not be disappointed. Whatever happened to Brian Wood? |

The Prelude To Wellwater Conspiracy

| Hater's one and only album is virtually unknown. Its two most famous members being ex-Soundgarden bassist Ben Shephard, and Matt Cameron you might expect something along the lines of Soundgarden - but then you'd be miles off. Playing a musical style that the White Stripes and The Strokes have been trying to nail ten years earlier, and with alot more diversity should have seen someone, anyone, dig this album out from the bargain bin and point out just how fantastic it is. For those Soundgarden fans who worship Shephard - this is why - simple catchy twisted 60 punk/surf rock that bristles and chugs beautifully. Cameron may be Pearl Jam's secret weapon but he really shoudln't be - secret that is. Everything he touches seems to be golden. The only sad thing is that Hater only made one album. But not really. The simply waited 4 years and released the became the incredible The Wellwater Conspiracy - somehow managing to out sparkle Hater in ways unimagined. Wellwater have 3 records now - Ben leads on two, Matt on one - all three are absolute musts for any guitar rock fan. But first get a copy of Hater - you most certainly not regret it. |

| This a fantastic, fun album. Those of you familiar with Soundgarden will recognize two members of Hater: Ben Shepherd and Matt Cameron. Shepherd, who wrote some of the more unusual songs for Soundgarden ("Half", "Head Down") penned most of the songs for Hater's self-titled debut (and only!) album. When the band got together in the 80's, they intended to be a regrouping of "Episode", though after Shepherd and Cameron took a few years off to join Soundgarden they decided to finally record this album in 1993.
